.........I think I'm going to play with fabric instead! Just look at this gorgeous fabric my sweet guy bought for me for Christmas!
Nevermind that I've had it for several months already, it was a Christmas gift and I promised myself I would wait until after Christmas before cutting it all up! :)
Isn't it pretty? These are pre-cuts from Moda fabrics--the niftiest idea to hit the quilting world since rotary cutters! I have a layer cake (one 10" square of each fabric in the line) and a jelly roll (one 2.5" strip of each fabric in the line). This fabric is from Fig Tree Quilts by Joanna Figueroa and the line is called Patisserie.
This is the quilt I will be making with all this yummy fabric! It's called "French Kiss".
Except my quilt will be modified to be queen sized for my bed. And it will have an S in the middle instead of the F. Dreamy, huh?
If you are a quilter and you are not familiar with Joanna's fabrics, you must go look at her website! Ahh, she speaks my quilt language! I have hardly found a fabric she has designed that didn't make me swoon. Yes, I swoon people. Over fabric. I never promised you I was normal, now did I??? My fellow quilter's will understand me.
You can also find her patterns and fabrics at my favorite quilt shop, the Fat Quarter Shop. This shop is one of the few I've found that carries what seems like every new line Moda comes out with! And, they are in Texas, so my shipping is always very quick!
And just in case you haven't gotten your fill of fabric pictures yet, here's the next quilt on my agenda........
It's called "Posies a la Mode" and features Mill House Inn fabric by Fig Tree, of course!
And I would LOVE to make this wall hanging, but haven't figured out where I can put it, yet. Maybe my daughter's room needs a Fig Tree makeover........... :)
Maybe I'd better go throw a load of laundry in and empty the dishwasher before I get started. Then it won't look like I played ALL day, anyway.
So, do you quilt? Do you have any new projects you're just itching to get to? Are YOU playing today instead of doing something you should be doing???

OH, I WISH I WERE A PIONEER WOMAN........
My sister and I had the best time last night! We went to Borders in Dallas for the Pioneer Woman book signing. We had it all planned out: Get there an hour early, grab a white chocolate mocha, browse for books while patiently waiting our turn to meet Ree, leave around 8:00ish and get Mexican food for dinner...............
Uh.........8:00ish??? Hee hee...........
We had NO idea.
After waiting in the non-moving line for two hours, we began to wonder if she would even still be around by the time it was our turn! After all, the Borders employee we affectionately named HappyLineDude told us we were about number 600 in a line of between 800-900 people. Umm......come again?
That's right. Over 800 people waited in line to meet Pioneer Woman. And we were determined to stick it out! After all, we had already invested over 2 hours in this adventure and had made a few friends along the way!
Sooooo..........................
Around 11:45ish (uh, that would be P.M.), this was what happened...........
Yay, for persistence!
And this is where she said how tired we must be and I told her how I almost took off my boots and carried them!
She replied with, "You should have! I WOULD!"
See, isn't she great!? She would have signed my book, stinky feet and all!
I heard she stayed until 2:00am signing every book for every person who stood in line! She could have left when she got tired, but she stayed just like the rest of us!
If you haven't gotten the chance, go take look at her blog and her down-home cookbook.
Once you do, you'll wish you stood in line at Borders for 5 1/2 hours to get yours signed!
Did I mention how much fun we had??? WE HAD FUN!
(And did I mention how AWESOME my sister is for waiting with me??? Susie, you are the WAY coolest sister I ever had!)
Thanks, Ree!!! You make me wish I were a Pioneer Woman!
Whew! That was only my second post and I managed to figure out how to upload photos and create links! I may be on to something here.
